Organic inputs play an important role in organic farming. At the same time there is a great need for the promotion of their uses in conventional(chemical) farming practices.
There is no legal framework in place for regulating the organic input manufacturing and their sale in the domestic markets. Organic certification alone does not address this issue.
Hence, considering the above challenges, OMA has been formed with a view in creating a healthy business environment for the organic input manufacturers.
OMA works for the promotion of organic farming practices among farmers as well as in the interest of the manufacturers.
OMA facilitates the liasoning between various government and non-government organisations and manufacturers of organic inputs.
1. To bring together manufacturers of organic inputs on the national level. 2. To create awareness about good manufacturing practices and promote ethical business practices among the manufacturers. 3. To work in tandem with various state as well as central government agencies for policy formulation on organic inputs. 4. To train farmers about harmful effects of chemicals and create awareness about organic farming.
